Tour to the Czech Republic (2004)
On Sunday 16th May we flew from Cardiff to Prague and had
a day exploring the beautiful city. The next day we were off
to Plzen, the capital of West Bohemia. We started with a tour
around the Plzen brewery, and then had to swiftly sober up
before our evening performance in the University with a local
choir. The soberness didn't last long, however, as we then
went for a meal with our hosts...
Tuesday was another day of leisure to explore Prague, and
then on the Wednesday we travelled to the 14th Century Karlstejn
Castle, where we performed in the courtyard. The castle is
stunning, but situated at the top of a very large hill! Some
of the less able members of the choir managed to comandeer
a horse and cart to make the journey a little easier.
We returned home on the Thursday, with just over a week to
recover before our next trip, to France.
